Nedungamuwe elephant king

We have a proud history and care a lot about our tooth relic. This Tooth Relic is like the crown jewel of Sinhala Buddhists. So we do variety of treats for it. The annual Dalada perahera is one of them. 

The procession will include Basnayaka Nilames, dance classes and elephant classes. This specialty of this is to display the Tooth Relic to the people and to bless the people. Carrying the Tooth Relic there is a very special task. For this we must have great charitable energy. This virtuous energy does not belong to  human being. Its charitable power belongs to the elephant king. This king also known as Kalawanna Pin Kanda. Everyone knowns him as the Elephant King of Nadungamuwa. In fact, this elephant has great deal of virtue. On the day of the Dalada Perahera, he carries the coffin of the  Tooth Relic in beautiful costumes and ornaments. This elephant pays more respects to he Tooth Relic than humans. Appreciating the service of the elephant king, Mr. Jananath Warakagoda composed a very beautiful song for him. 

Even if he is really elephant, we should keep flowers and pay homage to him.  

My Heart Will Go On

This song is a favorite song of all the people who stole everyone's heart. This song is recorded by Canadian singer Celine Dion. The song serves as the main theme song to James Cameron's  blockbuster film Titanic, based on an account of the transatlantic ocean liner of the same name which sank in the 1912 after colliding with an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean.  This song music was composed by  James Horner, its lyrics were written by Will Jennings , Production was handled by Walter. 

And actually this was a beautiful love song. The song first romantic visual is presented by the Jack and Rose. The melody of this song is very sweet and very pleasing to the ears. We also take a romantic scene trough this song.   I'm sure everyone who hears this will be deeply moved by this .So I am also very impressed with this song and love this song a lot. 

New Year Festival

Coming from Pisces to Aries we consider the new year. Thus the celebration of the Sun's transition from Pisces to Aries is also considered to be the main festival performed by Hindus and Sinhalese  devotees. The customs and  rituals of the new year are an important milestone for us. These rituals also have a religious background.  Here we perform a large number of rituals such as chanting, dealing, work and eating worshiping parents etc.. 

 And the main purpose here is to forget old grudges and make friendship with everyone. Also we going to relative houses. 

So this time our family is having a very happy new year celebration. My mom made delicious food and sweet like kewum, kokis, milk rice , cake etc..  We also went to the visit our thero and performed the rituals that take place there. Also light firecrackers during ritual times. We also se up a beautiful dining table and dealt with food at the appropriate time. Also considering the current situation in the country, we visited relatives' home in a safe manner. Really this year I spent the whole family gathering meaningful and beautifully. I willed all of my family members and friends.

Let only laugher remain in your mouth amidst the weeping and laughing hearts 

Fill yourself with only the comforts of the trouble hearts

My 22nd birthday.🎉🎉🎉🎁🎁

I was born 12th April 1999.I was 22 years old yesterday. I went to the Anuradhapura yesterday without cutting a birthday cake like everyone else. I went to Anuradhapura and engaged in the religious rites. So I worshiped the Jaya shri Maha Bodhi and Ruwanweli seya. I made a vow near the bo three and and a bo leaf fell to the ground. Picked I up and kept it as my souvenir . 

And there were a lot of people who added greeting to me. My family members as well as the school and university students all wished me well. I'm really happy. Because this is my first time so many congratulations have been sent to me. So my heartful thanks   go everyone who added their birthday wishes. 

My favorite actress

There are many talented artists not only Sri Lanka but also in the world. These guys are very creative. And very talented. All of them are second to none and they very beautiful and pleasant. There are some actors here in who only contribute through acting. There are separate people to do voice acting for artists who only contribute through acting. So my favorite actress like this. 

Her name is Pooja Gauthami Umashankar. Pooja is an Indian - Sri Lankan actress, who has primarily appeared in Tamil films as well as Sinhala and Malayalam. She simultaneously worked in  Sinhala cinema and was part of several successful films like Anjalika, Sarigama, Kusa Pabha. 

She is very talented in acting. She acts in a way that pleases others. And her style of speaking is beautiful and she is very good at speaking to others. She even has to judge dance competition. She dances very skillfully. She also helps others very well without any greed or pride. She had won many awards not only in Sri Lanka but also in world. 

In fact, if it is a talented person who who is valuable not only to the country but also in the world. So, I heartily wish her the strength and courage to continue her acting career.  

The Mirror Wall & The Lion Staircase in Sigiriya

The mirror wall dates from the fifth century and has been substantially preserved in its original forms. built up from the base of the rock itself with brick masonry, the wall has a highly polished plaster finish, from which its ancient name, the Mirror wall. The wall encloses a walk or gallery paved with polished marble slabs. The famous Sigiriya painting are found in a depression high above this gallery. The polished inner surface of the mirror wall contains the Sigiriya Graffiti as described above.

The lion, so impressive even in its ruined state today, must have afforded a vision of grandeur and majesty when it was intact. We know from the chronicle account of Kashyapa's   construction of Sigiriya that the lion staircase house was one of the principle features of his plan of the Sigiriya complex. The lion was in effect the ultimate and solitary gatehouse to the palace on the summit. 

Yesterday we went to the kovil

There are pre characters before learning all the dances. The tradition of a kathak dance also have have such preconceived notion.  Due to these pre - rituals, we went to Ganadevi kovil and took vows to dance. We went to the Kovil located on Puttalam Road, Kurunegala. The teacher and all of classmate attend this. We prepared fruit offerings and sweets for gods. We also flower for this. We all work devotion to this.

I'm so happy to able to go with friends and participate in doing something like this. I pray to  God Ghana that give me and my friends the strength and courage to master the Kathak Dance Tradition. I also prayed to God to save us all from the dangers we face.
